Could somebody maybe ELI5 this? I don’t get it, I haven’t used cash in over a decade, what’s the difference with the digital euro and… Normal non-cash transactions? Alternatively, how will this screw us over and make things more expensive? Thanks!

I already have digital euro on Revolut.

Euro is already digital. When they debase our money they add new zeros in the ECB accounting software first, before running the printers.

ECB:“We need to get rid of these pesky paper notes and printers so we can reduce the cost inflating the supply to 0.”
