Interesting article. Honestly, it’s fascinating seeing these major industry players having to answer questions outside of the realm of their usual short PR bits
I think consumers love game pass, though. I know I sure do.
Me too. I think smaller devs love game pass. Or so I’ve read very often. I’m playing f.i.s.t. right now, a game I would have never tried if not for game pass, and it’s actually pretty fun. I’m now more interested in the developers future projects. The AAA devs might not like it, but they have been serving us a streaming pile of shit over and over again for a while now and just shrugging when gamers complain.
Game Pass has also made playing games with my parter easier and cheaper. Now the cost of a game isn’t factored in as much if we want to try out a multilayer game.
I feel Sony’s take on Game Pass is similar to how Blockbuster saw Netflix in the early days.
yeah, that’s true actually. me and mine both have the full 3 years bought out with the gold conversion, same with a few friends - it’s really nice when a new multiplayer or co-op game hits, and we all know we just have it unlocked immediately, no worrying about who’s in a place where they can actually spend 90CAD (or whatever new games are up to now) at the drop of a hat on it
If Sony claims publishers hate Game Pass, why did Sony create PS Plus Premium? I’m pretty sure i’ve seen articles before from some studios/indie devs saying Game Pass was beneficial to their game compared to it not being on it.
Tbf PS+ extra/premium is just rebranded & expanded PS Now which existed long before Game Pass
