It’s believed that Microsoft has as much of 49% OpenAI stock, so thus is a major “in your face” for the board.
I feel like this is one of those multiverse branch moments where Skynet is created.

Predictable but smart move - odds are that Microsoft’s medium-term goal is to replace its partnership with OpenAI with in-house tech. And this is far easier to do by grabbing Altman plus anyone who’s loyal to him from OpenAI.
