Following Advanced Vector Extensions (AVX) and more recently Advanced Matrix Extensions (AMX) for furthering the x86_64 CPU compute potential, Intel has now published initial details on APX: Advanced Performance Extensions.
Intel’s Advanced Performance Extensions are to allow access to more registers and adding additional features to enhance general-purpose CPU performance. Intel says APX will allow for performance gains across a wide swath of workloads and without costing much in terms of CPU power or silicon area.
Welcome to Lemmy. No wait, you’re on kbin. Whatever, welcome to the Fediverse.
Except yo, I got you first. https://lemmy.world/post/2107951
No wait, on your server its… This link instead, right?
Whatever, we’ll figure this out as we move along. :-)
Also, I’ve got the https://old.lemmy.world/c/realtesla community coming up. Or if you prefer your kbin links… https://kbin.social/m/realtesla@lemmy.world
@dragontamer AVX10 is a subset of APX, AFAIK. It is not quite the same post.
Also, none of the mods of RealTesla have come here. I’d wait until the community really decides to move on before participating.

Hmm. That’s a good point.
In any case, welcome to the Fediverse. Nice to see familiar faces (erm… usernames) around again.
