First topic I figured might as well be about how people found out about this game and got to playing it.

I first saw this game way before it was released back on my days of /v/ on 4chan. I never ended up playing the demo (actually not sure if it was downloadable at that point) but I remember being interested in the threads with the pictures people were posting. I followed them for a bit but I remember people making jokes about the game never being released and when I found out it was more a VN I was somewhat disinterested in it. Plus I stopped using 4chan around that time too so I kinda forgot about it.
A couple of years after release, I had a real itch to play something in a Cyberpunk setting. I just looked up Cyberpunk games and saw VA-11 Hall-A and figured that maybe it was time to finally give it a go. Followed the screen where it said get yourself comfy and just went for it. From the get go I loved Jill, I don’t know what it was, but her whole attitude and stuff was great for me. All the other supporting characters too. I really loved the setting, something big’s happening, but it doesn’t concern you, Jill is just someone trying to get through the day, maybe it’s something to relate to there. Anyway I got a couple of friends into it too and they loved it as well, it’s a bit of a hard sell with the gameplay for some people (like myself at first) but the characters and story are great.
Anyway that’s that and now I own a few bits of VA-11 Hall-A merc including a Jill plush (regret not getting Dana when I could…) and now a Jill Nendroid!

I heard about this game from a friend. He wasn’t particularly enthusiastic and probably on the verge to drop it (VNs aren’t his kind of games) but, since I love cyberpunk settings, I went checking it out right away.

And yes, as expected I loved it, both the atmosphere and the characters. Me, mostly a listener, being in the shoes of a bartender hearing the stories of aaall kind of people made this experience so immersive and enjoyable I’ll never forget it and won’t ever miss the chance to suggest my friends to play it x)
