I’m with you. They’re literally designed to polarize and demonize, except that half the audience they’re mocking isn’t present, and the other half already agree… so its literally just spreading hatred instead of awareness.

Its low effort and cheap is what I’m saying, even if I obviously agree with it

There’s never a joke, it’s only ever “here’s an opinion you already agree with, now upvote and feel smug for being part of a morally superior in-group” - it’s like Fox News for Tumblr-style “liberals” or whatever you want to call them. In other words, what makes them good? It’s just pabulum, dry toast, chewing gum for the eyes. Couldn’t be further from art, it doesn’t inspire anything.

So they’re not a bad or evil artist or anything, it’s just populism and the same, liberal, milquetoast criticism of conservatism. I haven’t seen them post anything too bad. Nothing too funny, but not bad.

But I was taken back by the depiction of the non-binary person who appears feminine coded with stubble. Nothing wrong with that in reality, it’s just how “anti woke” cartoonists have been depicting trans people for a long time now, and it draws in exactly the kinds of readers you would expect to engage with and comment on, and it feels pretty lazy in 2024.
