100% there are songs and music that I adore that were heavily attached to who I was at the time, that, although I still adore, would not have the same impact now. Green day, RHCP, imagine dragons, all those are from different key times in my life that just would not resonate the same with level of impact today.
I would most definitely lose that value if I eternal sumshined it
In 2019 I lived in a bigger city for my state (USA) and my rent for a 1Br was $1200mo (heat/hot water only). Though it was not “in” the city, but one street over from the main strip. It is massively more expensive now
I had to read “Speak”. It was basically a short story about a girl getting SA’d and then treated like crap by everyone till the last couple pages. I do not think it had the intended effect they were going for.
His video on the wok induction heater had so much sass
“What was once an impossibility is now a reality”
By vectron’s creaky ankle that’s a great video!
This is humor, yes. I mostly just wanted a reason to say those combination names
TIL, I did a project on this 10 or so years ago, so either I misremembered or new information came to light
What if I want both? Is there a ububian? Or a debuntu?
Edit: /j
I know the /s but I also want to introduce you to amorphous solids! (Because I like them so now you get to read this lol) https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amorphous_solid
Which is essentially a “solid” structure without a proper crystalline structure. This will cause it to move as a liquid at incredibly slow speeds. Such a glass for instance. Extremely old historical glass can be seen to be thicker at the bottom than the top. Not because it was built this way, but because over hundreds of years it has “poured” down [1].
*This is a simplified explanation and therefore may not be acutely accurate for sake of simplicity
TL;DR Some solid stuff is really just super slow liquids. I.E. Glass
[1]: See link in comment reply. Glass is an amorphous solid but sources say that glass pane construction is the cause of thicker bottoms rather than it’s movement over time.
I’d be interested in playing on the server, though I’ll be busy the next few days so I’d not be able to contribute a ton of time. As long as that’s cool I’m down! I may even have a friend who’d be willing to join
Ah, than there’s no issue to begin with
So the amount you are adding is getting smaller with each iteration, 1/4 is smaller than 1/2, however you are still adding 1/4 on top of the 1/2, and those two are combined, closer to “1” than either of them independently correct? (1/2 +1/4 =1/3. 1/3>1/2)
So if the number gets bigger forever than at some point it will eventually hit “1”, since we already started with “1” the next “1” will be “2”
I hope I’m explaining it well enough, it’s similar to how 3.33(repeating)x3…=10 (though technically for different reasons)
I believe starting with 1/1 which equals 1, you are then adding infinitely (fractions) on top of the 1. So 1, then 1 1/2, ect, so the next full integer to be hit (infinitely down the line) would be 2.
I don’t do high level math so I hope this explanation is correct or intelligible, this is just how I understand it intuitively
Drink a full glass of water before bed, eventually you’ll learn how much to drink to wake you at about the correct time. I used to be absolutely dead to the world while sleeping, I even needed a shock bracelet to wake me. Drinking water was one method I used though.
In the way that language is commonly used, yes. People have been using it wrong for so long “jealous” has effectively become synonymous with “envious”. Even if I dislike and disagree with it being used this way.
If someone is eating a donut and you say “I’m so jealous [of having the donut]” I’m fairly confident most everyone would understand you mean envious by definition but are using the word jealous to convey that meaning.
Many trades pay big money just for having the knowledge more than doing work. Being capable =/= Doing lots of work necessarily. I know people being paid big bucks to do nothing until a specific job comes up that requires their niche knowledge. That knowledge can be so hard to find or capable people so sparse that it’s worth paying a lot to have that value on retainer.
Maybe that Dr. Is a specialist? Maybe there’s shortage? There’s plenty of possible reasons, including that person just being a bad worker. Regardless, they definitely spent near a decade to gain enough knowledge and skill to aquire that position. That’s gonna come with a larger salary.
I was at a bar (with a partner at the time, who was on the dance floor) and a girl came up to me and started a conversation about her college classes and her puppetry. I though it was cool! We had a good conversation and the girl’s sister eventually pulled her away. My then partner came up and told me she was totally interested. I was like “Her? Nah, we were just talking about some cool hobby stuff!” She was totally into me apparently.
Note: My partner was not upset, she was a very sexually progressive person and even suggested I get her number. I’m a one person kinda lad though.
Whenever I return to my vehicle, if I do not have a shopping cart with me, I’ll find one someone didn’t return and return it for them.
Fear me, I am your antithesis
I have a rusted knife in a badly tanned hide sheath from the early 1900s that an explorer in the family got from a tribe over Africa way (not sure of real geographical location). The thing is primitive and small but could probably be cursed. I don’t have many items that’d fit the description
