Western philosophy is very different from Eastern philosophy.

To be real, a lot of philosophical thought begins with a question. What is my purpose in the world, what is mankind’s purpose in the universe, how large is the universe, are we living in a simulation. Then you start exploring those thoughts and expressing what you found in the thoughts that you experienced.

I’m not sure if it’s related but there was an annual symposium called “Linux Sucks”. It was a gathering of mostly Linux developers. The idea was to find the ways Linux sucks and develop ideas to fix the suck.

I don’t know for sure but for me, if I spent 10 years in college, and two or three years in an internship, working 15 hours a day, sometimes 20 or 30 hours straight with no sleep, I would think that having the doctor title is something I worked hard to earn.
