  • So, to be fair, you’re paid for your service of creating the art, not for the copyrighted material. I would think that is different than to creating a piece based on copyrighted material and then selling the finished art. Anyways, Bungie does not get ownership of their art, just the ability to sue for profits they make from selling it and/or damages, at best, If they can prove it violated copyright and it is not transformative/under fair use.

Also… while I’m here… god why white and orange it looks so bad, doesn’t match what is in game, and just… no.

the god of blood & wine, who died and was reborn, and often shown with pinecone imagery is celebrated on the winter solstice for the harvest of wine, and then again with the coming of spring for the end of winter harvest. Lots of dicks, flowers, fruit, baskets, bread, young unmarried women, etc.

While it sounds like it could be, it is not Jesus. not Christmas. not Easter. Not the last supper. Many christians assumed so I guess and got mad. Plus omg people being promiscuous? in ancient greece/rome? GASP. Because we all know jesus killed adulterers and prostitutes…

Anyways, it was for the greek god Dionysus, with the celebration Dionysia. or Bacchus and the celebration Bacchanalia if you’re roman.

Man. Who could’ve guessed the french would like the god of wine & would want to honor that.

  • While I believe they answered well, the short being it being published doesn’t mean it is automatically science, there are plenty of shitty publications that care more about number of articles than ensuring good practices, and good peer review.

The point of what he was saying was that you need to publish it for it to be science tho, as science is there to build knowledge and increase our understanding, and not publishing does not allow that and thus is not science, even if the methods were good and the logic was sound.

  • Dude won a Turing award 6 years ago, is a major player in a field that is rapidly expanding, Professor at NYU, and thus is likely part of a lot of different research going on. He may not be writing up all 80 personally, but his work and name is part of them. If it was some nobody working in a slower field I would definitely be cautious about 80 papers in 5 years.
