Yeah my sister went to India a few years back by herself and while thankfully nothing terrible happened to her, she said she would never go back. Just walking around she said the streets are majority men and they are not shy about staring at any woman (especially someone who was clearly a foreigner). Of course, parts of the trip were cool but definitely not the place to be travelling alone as a woman.

I don’t remember having imaginary friends but my aunt and grandma have always told me the story of how I was sitting upset one and time and they asked me what happened and I told them there was an older lady scolding me. From what I described to them they were convinced it was my deceased great grandma that had been giving me shit for something or other. Apparently she was a bit of a grouch and had died in that house. House was also super haunted in other ways from what they say.
You’re right about the definition of asocial, but in every dictionary I’ve found, antisocial actually means both. Antisocial behaviour is generally more about harming others, while describing oneself as antisocial is generally just avoiding others.
I’m curious if you’re from the UK because when I was there, I noticed a lot more people use antisocial in the context of harming others or society, while in north America we use it more in the avoiding others context.

Interesting, I never pictured the character in Android as a trans person, honestly what I had in mind was more of a mentally unwell, possibly unhoused, person that perhaps had no other choice but to wear woman’s shies. Given, all of that in today’s lens is very problematic, but the song is 33 years old after all and I didn’t really have an understanding of trans people when I first heard it more than 20 years ago. Though I did pretty clearly understand the meaning of the line in basketcase.
Idk, maybe it’s because I grew up with them and Billie Joe was a queer idol for me growing up, but king for a day never struck me as demeaning towards people who cross dress or people who are trans either. Just a (probably autobiographical) song about breaking gender norms.

Yeah I have terrible allergies and went to a new doctor, he couldn’t do much but I mentioned I use an over the counter nasal spray for $40. He’s like oh, let me write you a prescription and now I get a prescription one for free in Canada. Too bad my allergy pills aren’t covered though but those are still an affordable price at least.
