  • Edit: the following only applies to USPS, so it’s probably a good idea to only use USPS for mail.

    https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/18/1708

Whoever steals, takes, or abstracts, or by fraud or deception obtains, or attempts so to obtain, from or out of any mail, post office, or station thereof, letter box, mail receptacle, or any mail route or other authorized depository for mail matter, or from a letter or mail carrier, any letter, postal card, package, bag, or mail, or abstracts or removes from any such letter, package, bag, or mail, any article or thing contained therein, or secretes, embezzles, or destroys any such letter, postal card, package, bag, or mail, or any article or thing contained therein; or

Whoever steals, takes, or abstracts, or by fraud or deception obtains any letter, postal card, package, bag, or mail, or any article or thing contained therein which has been left for collection upon or adjacent to a collection box or other authorized depository of mail matter; or

Whoever buys, receives, or conceals, or unlawfully has in his possession, any letter, postal card, package, bag, or mail, or any article or thing contained therein, which has been so stolen, taken, embezzled, or abstracted, as herein described, knowing the same to have been stolen, taken, embezzled, or abstracted—

Shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than five years, or both.

A cop who commits a crime is a criminal. A cop who commits a felony crime is a felon. Arrest them.

  • There’s is a simple solution to this: stop buying concert tickets. I know, I know - who wouldn’t want to get together with thousands of other people in a tiny space and listen to the same music together, feel the same beats, breathe the same air, share the same pathogens… Sounds great.

But this is how price exploration works (which in a monopoly looks a lot like price gouging). You have a product and want to make more money, so you double (often less, this is a simplification) your prices thinking if it’s too much people will stop buying and you’ll have a sale or drop prices back to what they were. But people keep buying your product, so of course you’re going to keep the price the same even if you get a couple of dirty looks. So after a bit you reason if people are willing to pay 2x for it, maybe they’ll pay 2.5x or 3x, so you try it, and it works… Rinse and repeat.

The only way to break the cycle is legislation (not likely, but more consumer protections would of course be welcome) or to stop buying.

Right, so you’ve got all this experience and knowledge and all you want to do is complain that people get it wrong, you don’t want to do anything to change that by say educating someone who’s engaging in good faith. Consider my mistake noted, I’m no longer interested in anything you have to say about anything. You’re not old, you’re horrifically rude and unnecessarily aggressive. Good day.

I didn’t assume anything, bud, I asked you two questions. The reason I wanted to know if you’re familiar with QFT is because the analogy of song makes sense to me, in the context of QFT, and one reason to dismiss the analogy is if you don’t know anything about QFT and think someone’s just spouting hippy-dippy bullshit. I wanted to make sure it wasn’t that.

It’s too bad you don’t like the song analogy. Maybe we’ll find something on an even smaller scale shaped like dicks and then it’ll be Quantum Dick Theory, and if someone comes up with poetic language to describe the universe in dicks that’ll be popular too. That seems unlikely because of maths I don’t understand, but whatever 🤷‍♀️

But, you don’t like it because it stops making sense to you at some point. Cool. Am I allowed to ask what that point is and why it doesn’t make sense past it, or do you just wanna tell me to go jerk off again?
