I just watched this episode the other night and Kirk seems to be annoyed with Sulu, then Spock is like 990.07 light years, not 1000 please be more accurate.
It felt off for those characters. But maybe it was just late when I watched itS. What do you think?
I agree that it is on brand for Spock. I guess it just stood out since he doesn’t do it much.
Agreed. Maybe he doesn’t do it often because of time, and because of the impression you got from Spock when he said that. If Spock said things like that too often, he could come across as unlikable. Like being that person who if I say the sky is blue, they will respond with, “it’s cerulean.” They may not be wrong, but it can get tedious.
