    Yeah… it’s taken on a certain meaning since it was published. I’ll warn you that the first 2.5 books are the weakest of the set, not bad; just immature writing. (The reasons make sense if you know the story behind them being written).

    Jim Butcher has stated that Dead Beat was written as a reintroduction for new readers to coincide with the debut of the TV series. That way new people could try a book in the series that was more representative of his writing. It is still one of my current favorite series though.

      The TV series was a mistake, was so excited when I saw it but man it fell flat.

        The series is pretty okay, I think. Some nice, light, cheesy entertainment, nothing wrong about. You probably don’t want to watch it after having started on the books, and if you do, it might be best to pretend it has nothing to do with the books and is its own thing.

          I was heavy heavy into the books when I saw it. I guess looking at it in the light of “this has no relation to the books” it wasn’t bad, but it was a bad adaptation
