Tbh I enjoyed the gameplay of Andromeda and I still don’t understand the hate around it. Sure it’s not the best game ever, but I had fun playing it. I feel like people really over exaggerated how bad the game is.
And I say that as a big fan of the original trilogy who was really disappointed in ME3 as well.
I had a great time with Andromeda when it released, but something happened to the game during new game plus that completely broke everything, and I stopped playing to wait for a patch.
ME2 was amazing and it forced me to finished ME1. I dropped ME3 and Andromeda, but ME3 co-op was fun for a bit. The lack of ME3 co-op is a missed opportunity but I recall there being unwanted in-game purchases.
While I didn’t love Andromeda the same as I did the first two games, I liked it more than ME3.
I didn’t go into it expecting the same game as before, honestly because they changed gameplay in every game, so I think my experience was different going in from people who were expecting something like 2/3.
Idk I could be talking out my ass.
Honestly I want a follow up on Andromeda because despite it’s flaws as a game (especially an established series), it’s a really interesting concept and general story.
I want to see where my Ryder manages to steer the cluster. But I want them to learn from their past mistakes and actually branch the plot out. Don’t give me illusion of choice and make the dozens of stories ultimately end in one of a few ways.
I’d love if we could get another installment, but somehow convince the team that worked on 2 to come back. IMO 2 is the best one, but 1 will always have a special place for me.
Andromeda was meh for me. I wanted them to take some risks or add a decent story. I wanted something to reel me in but after about 20 hours, I decided it was not going to happen.
I disliked the ending of 3 more than I disliked Andromeda.

I’m still waiting…
That sucks…

The hate: THIS ISN’T MY COMMANDER AND HIS BESTIES
from what I can tell anyway.

Yeah I completely agree with your analysis. I also wish mass effect would get a new episode.
Although seeing EA in 2024 I might regret this wish.
