TEXT FROM POST: “Attached: 2 images 👿 PSA: #Reddit is restoring deleted and overwritten posts to save what they consider “their data”. This is a new low and probably illegal at least in Europe. You can send a GDPR or CPRA request here: https://www.reddit.com/settings/data-request These are screenshots of my profile on June 14th before and after overwriting and then deleting all my posts with Powerdelete. Today, June 16th all my posts have been restored by Reddit without my knowledge or consent. #redditblackout #redditmigration #kbin #lemmy

    In case you live in Europe: keep prove of the deletion and if your comments are recovered keep proof of that as well. Under European law (GDPR) you can file a complaint. If a large amount of people claim violations of GDPR Reddit’s gonna have some issues.

      That’s why I’m waiting a few weeks before I log back into reddit and start deleting all my old content, slowly and methodically.

      Wondering if I should delete, or simply start replacing the text wtih “F*ck SPEZ” and see how long that lasts lol

        I’ve started replacing comments with “this comment was deleted on (date), after being deleted and restored once already. If you can see this, Reddit restored it without my consent for the second time.”

        I’ve had 6 respawn, but haven’t checked since my app died.

    Come June 30th, I’m gonna start deleting my comments with one of the automated services mentioned here. I was planning on immediate deleting my account too but it looks like I’ll have to wait for a bit.

    OP, how did you make this article have an orange gradient in dark mode on mobile?

      i did it through the CSS section of the appearance section of the magazine panel/settings. this will add a basic background with the link you specify:

      #middle { background-image: url(INSERT IMAGE URL); background-repeat: no-repeat; background-size: cover; }

      i’m currently using this

        uh oh , that wasnt my goal. ill try to make it more readable. the background on desktop extends a lot further, so that bright orange doesnt show until you reach the bottom. didnt know it looked like that on mobile

    Somedays Im tempted to go back and edit all my (good, evidence based) advice with bad (common misconceptions, misinformation) advice.
    But in my life spreading good information in the sea of bullshit is kind of a big personal value… so I haven’t had the heart to do that.
    But I do share the idea in case someone likes it.
