Big nerd. Big fan of cool open source stuff. Generally queer. (He/him)
A solid, accessible guide for different desktop environments and window mangers is something that’s been needed for a long time. Or even just some kinda step by step to recreate an example setup would be super helpful to new folks and could help grow the community.
I think that’d be a plus given the migration to lemmy split things up and shrank the number of contributers here vs reddit.
I believe this is an issue with both openboard and the aosp keyboard (with jerboa specifically), here lemme find the repo for the open board fork thats still getting development
Edit: https://github.com/Helium314/openboard this fork is under active development. It can be installed via the apks on github or through obtainium. If there isn’t one already it would be helpful to submit a bug report for the issue you’re experiencing. It might be good to open a bug report with jerboa too
Gotcha. I missed that on their GitLab page, Thank you for pointing it out to me!
Futo Voice Input, and there are links in the post ☺️ Weirdly, it doesn’t seem to be on Fdroid (yet?), but you can install it as an APK from their website.
I’m using it to type this comment and I REALLY like it! But I will say it tries to do punctuation for me, and that drives me nuts.
(Video is about an open source voice to text, input method for Android, by the way.)
I mean, in fairness, this is a reviewer. I think the obsession with everything being different than it used to be is mostly a consumer, marketing and reviewer thing. Designers certainly have a role to play in the problem too, though.
Thats a super cool feature, I’d love to see that implemented on jerboa too!
Man, thats cool as fuck
I feel like I don’t see much of the stormtrooper sort of pallette from that era
Borderlands. Couch co-op with my brother was pretty much what videogames was to me as a kid, and borderlands was always our favorite. I can’t wait to have a platform I can play borderlands 3 and the tiny Tina game on with him over the Christmases when hes back in town (I know they’re not quite as good, thats perfectly okay)
These days, hollow knight is also genuinely very special to me. I don’t think there’s any game I hold in the same kind of place of reverence
I’m not sure if there’s actually a way to, but I could be wrong…
Oof :( I didn’t really wanna read that
Like 7zip, or winrar if I remember right. Sometimes when torrenting something or getting ROMs for emulation I’ve come across archive formats that have given me a problem when I try to uncompress them
Material files and/or anemo are perfect for me. Wish material files could handle more kinds of compressed archives though, I have to keep a different app for those tasks
I feel like the only things that are likely to matter quality wise are surface finish and casting quality, which could maybe theoretically make a cheaper pan more liable to crack? And I once picked up a cheap cast iron and found it much lighter than expected, though I don’t know if there are any real problems with that, other than just the tradeoff between thermal mass and ease of handling. But it could potentially be indicative of a quality issue that could matter.
I think unless you’re getting a really nice cast iron pan with a smoother surface, or an enameled cast iron item, where there’s a lot of variation in the quality of enamel coating, the brand isn’t going to make a hugs difference. There’ll probably be differences still, at least in the shape, weight and thickness of the pan, but I don’t think its a thing where one brand stands head and shoulders above the rest until you get to the expensive smooth cast iron stuff, or the La Cruset enameled stuff.
Lmao, I’m gonna start calling myself a faerie lemon now, thank you
Commenting for engagement, I hope you’re able to find what you’re looking for :)
I don’t mind a little bit of simplification, as the previous logo had a lot of little granular details that arent going to be as legible at different scales, but I’m not sure I’m entirely in love with the execution here. I like that they kept the nodes offset as opposed to the previous version for smaller scale applications, but the point where the left node originates from is too close to the base of the house, putting too many corners in close proximity for them to read clearly enough as separate corners and for them to not just merge into a bit of an organic wiggle if you’re not looking close enough.
I don’t hate it though, and I think overall its a decent improvement in some respects. But I think the old one had more character, and was a bit better executed, even if it didn’t works as well at all scales
I appreciate you mentioning that, thats how I’m considering using the 5 if it ends up as my phone replacement, but I have a hard time interpreting the info around wireless frequency bandwidths supported 🙃 I like pretty user interfaces, networking hurts my brain
