Sounds like the problem is with the app.

The Cask of Amontillado.
I remember reading it, and seeing it as a metaphor for killing off an aspect of yourself, like being a drunk, no matter how long or hard the process is, and hoping that it will never come back to haunt you.
The names are quite similar and I was trying to sober up at the time; I wasn’t going to admit to the grade 9 class the latter.
Montresor = Mon trésor is “my treasure”
Fortunato = the root word is “fortune”
The original link works fine for me, are you looking at it using actual lemmy, or an app?
Flappy bird is the rip-off version of a different game already
This has been a problem in Lemmy.ca for a while and I brought this up on !lemmy_ca_support@lemmy.ca a while back:
New Line isn’t one of the “major studios”, so Torch Song is out, and I’m not sure that Birdcage is a romcom.
Maurice, Trick, and The Broken Heart’s Club, are also older and much better than bros, but not major studio releases.
But all of these movies are watchable, so they’re better than Bros.
That is the point
Cattle farming isn’t profitable?
And when he kills them for profit, you can play with their organs, making puppets out of Every. Single. One.
They aren’t saying it’s the first electric train, they are saying it’s the first all electric “Giga Train”.
It’s like how Bros kept trying to imply it was the first gay movie, or even first gay romcom, but it was the first gay romcom that was created and released by a major studio whose initial release was a “wide” release in more than one country.
“Chernobyl” is just factually wrong in this case. Even if you have decided that you want to spell it the Russian way in your day-to-day life, the name of the game spells it “Chornobyl”.
It’s the same as article using “Bald-hairs Gait”, or “Sidd Meyer’s Alfa Sentary”
It looks like they spell it correctly in the article now, so @alessandro@lemmy.ca can update the title of the post to match the link
You need to use a carot/arrow on both sides of the word to use superscript on lemmy.
^this^
becomes this
Edit: Header removed: maybe we shouldn’t encourage the use of headers.
Not clickbait at all.
Wet-bulb is the combination of heat and humidity, and it is deadly in 6 hours. The article is about the first time they have lab tested the conditions on humans to determine the exact numbers, instead of just using the 35C estimate that we have been using.
Reader mode of Firefox helped me be able to read the content of the article, despite the unacceptable layout.
Here’s the short version:
Wet-bulb weather is when, because of a combination of humidity and heat, you can’t naturally cool off with things like sweat.
There are certain combinations where the weather only needs to be 25.8C for a health younger person, or 21.9C for an elderly person for “wet-bulb” to be achieved.
Climate change is real, and it’s causing more instances of “wet-bulb” weather.
Outside activities may not be possible in the summer in certain parts of the world, people will die, the rich will move.
That doesn’t make it any less awful.
Thankfully, a lot of browsers have a reader mode to undo such sins.
That’s some awful website design.
You’re right that cats are vessels filled with the urge to murder, so they are likely to kill a bug inside the house.
The only thing that we can confirm, is that you are the account you are currently posting on.
It is very easy to impersonate someone in the Fediverse.
