Wow! I’m in undergrad and designing a research project right now that is specifically looking for a relationship between hydrocarbons from vehicle fluids and density of a microbiome in soil. It’s a little more involved than that, but I am just really glad this article is drawing attention to soils in particular.
Everything is interconnected, and bacteria and fungi colonies (for example) are just as important as plants and animals in the food web. We depend on a large diversity of organisms, and that diversity is something that has been rapidly declining.

Every body/brain is different. I tried three other meds for adhd before I landed on a combo that works for me. Strattera was extremely bad for me, but I know it’s amazing for other people. Sometimes you don’t really have a choice but to go through a few meds before you find one that works and is tolerable
Wellbutrin definitely helped me much more than any other medication classified as an antidepressant. I think if I had known it was helping my undiagnosed adhd at the time I would have stayed on it, but it didn’t do shit for my depression lol.
I have never had to wait for a dose of Adderall or Vyvanse since I got diagnosed 2 years ago, and i actually have an extra month of them at the moment. I’m not sure if this is location or pharmacy specific, all my meds come from the VA.
Those red squiggles that are under some words break the spell. The only things that are allowed to be in red are thumbprint and specific words written at 45°. They can’t make the red squiggles go away, so they have to write by hand
I didn’t say it was safe! Just safer than minoxidil :) The oil is usually meant to be used as a pre-wash treatment, so it’s not going to sit on your head all day like minoxidil, further reducing the risk of contact with pets.
It’s also much safer to use around cats than topical minoxidil is!
My triglycerides fell a little over 50 points! Almost to a healthy level now.
My cholesterol total fell a little over 20 points, with small drops in hdl and ldl.
That’s about four months of abstaining from alcohol with no change from my normal “vegan” diet.
You could try the pomodoro method, or gamification techniques. Medication helps immensely though
I went vegan and had no change in my cholesterol. I have never had a diet that was high in fat, so that didn’t surprise me. My doctor told me I need to give up alcohol for any change to occur. There’s definitely a genetic component as well, my dad and his dad seriously struggled with their cholesterol levels.
I had to abstain from alcohol over the summer because I started a medication that is hard on the liver, and I just had a lipid panel today. So I’ll find out early next week if my doctor was right lol

There have been many times that I justified gaining weight via alcoholism because I thought maybe if I was disgusting no one would assault me again. Turns that that’s not only not true, I’ve become disgusted with and hate my own body. So now I have a crippling alcohol addiction in addition to hating myself, and being afraid of interacting with certain people.
I’ve done a lot of therapy. And I will continue to do a lot of therapy. I almost graduated from therapy this spring, and had curbed my alcohol intake. But, then I had to get a restraining order and my brain fell right back into it’s old habits. It shouldn’t be this hard to feel safe as a middle aged adult lol

When I was in high school red and blue bandanas were banned because of the links to bloods and crips. I grew up in an isolated agricultural town in Florida, completely on the opposite side of the country where those gangs were. (are? I feel like they could have spread a bit since then)
Which is funny because VA compensation isn’t taxable
I live in one of those sparsely populated states, I have to drive 5 hours one way to see a neurologist. Because the one that is two hours away only sees a small number of veterans due to the way the VA pays them.
Thank you for the offer of help, I now have 100% disability with the VA and I’m also on ssdi. Good luck helping your veteran, and please appeal when the VA gives them a rating. They like to lowball us, I was given 70% after my first c&p.
