Usually I warn my 81 year old dad about these scams. Don’t think I need to worry about this one, he wouldn’t be tech savvy enough to find the windows button

I think a part of the reason concerts are so expensive is big acts tour with an army of performers and stage hands to ensure the music sounds exactly like the recording. That’s what the audience has come to expect.
If it was Russia the whale would have fallen out a window
The same Bernie Madoff that died in jail?
I’m gonna wait for the movie
It doesn’t matter your age, put up a bird feeder and you’ll soon hate squirrels. You spend $40 on a bag of seed and they’ll scoop out all the stuff that they don’t want to get to the stuff they do want. Seed on the ground attracts animals you don’t want like rodents or Canadian geese that shit all over. I found it easier to pay the squirrels off like the mafia. Buy a bag of corn or cheap peanuts and sprinkle some around to appease the bastards. It sucks but it’s worth it in the long run.
Does your club meet regularly? Once a week, once a month? It’s important to keep it regular. Predictability makes it easier for people to make it a routine. Meet on the same day of the week. Don’t change it to accommodate anyone. People have their own lives, don’t be hurt if they don’t show. Also know that people often will say they are interested but not follow through, that’s normal.
Meetings need to have a framework. I recently joined a club that begins each meeting by having the secretary read the minutes from the last meeting. Then they address old business and new business. The main body of the meeting is usually a guest speaker. After that members have time to check out a book from the library, pay dues, order hats or shirts.
Every organization needs a leader. It’s never going to be 100% self maintaining. That doesn’t mean you have to do all the work but you’ll have to delegate responsibilities to volunteers. Don’t micromanage them. Be grateful and complimentary, nobody’s getting paid I assume. Be willing to accept things even though they didn’t turn out how you envisioned. They’ll be more willing to take projects on when you are supportive.
I hope this helps, good luck
Before cable news and before there was such an appetite for political news, real news sources were very diverse. Every newspaper had a sports section and an entertainment section. Also opinion was in the opinion or op-ed section. Nowadays I’m more leary of news sources that are strictly political news. Everyone has a Washington DC correspondent. Lots of news sites will buy all of their news outside of DC from a wire service or even sometimes their story is “reporting” what another agency is reporting. Maybe I’m just old and set in my ways but I prefer the traditional well rounded sources. Others just seem cheap and have an agenda
Yeah the first couple of these I tried to make sense of. It’s pointless of course, best to just let your eyes roll through it and enjoy the moment
I don’t have a X/Twitter account anymore but can still read tweets or whatever they’re called these days
More likely that’s the insurance company’s call
I had an infected tooth and the pain was awful. The dentist told me to take four ibuprofen. When I mentioned the instructions said no more than two at a time he said it was okay for a short period of time.
I’ll drive slower on my way home if there’s a good song playing. Just sitting there seems weird. What’s up with all the people recording themselves on video while sitting in their car?
There’s an anxiety that takes hold when people are lost. It can make people very irritable and cause them to rash things because it feels better to do something even if it’s the wrong thing. I’ve found this out from years of backpacking using a map and compass. GPS software is a great thing but I can understand why some people don’t trust it, it’s not without it’s faults. You can’t trust it explicitly. IMO because of this technology we are losing our ability to know where we are in a space. Following the linear directions from a GPS app we don’t picture where we are in relation to our destination. Your friend probably had memorized how to get to his job at that exit by arriving at it from a particular direction. Deviation from the norm threw him off. It’s interesting how technology changes us and we become dependent on it. I grew up reading maps before GPS having had delivery jobs, still have the county map books. There was a time when people navigated by stars at night and by following flowing water.
Is this anything new? Of course governments have a strategy in place for dealing with all kinds of scenarios. It would be foolish not to
Loss of imagination, patience, optimism
I wear flannels
Scrap 4x4’s or bricks will suffice
I think the intensity of tinnitus varies from person to person. For me it’s a constant ringing that doesn’t affect my life too badly. To the fellow that started Texas Roadhouse restaurants and killed himself, I assume it was much worse. From what I’ve read there’s a couple of things that cause tinnitus. Ginko biloba addresses one of those causes. It’s cheap and available in any drugstore without a prescription and IMO is worth a try.
Maybe try to ween them off cable by cutting down to ultra basic cable. Still have access to local news.
