That one felt like a personal attack
Literally i have to shower the same way every time because I’m lucky if i remember the very last thing i did
I also wonder/hope if specialized Lemmy apps can paper over friction issues like these. For example i know that RedReader prefers viewing the cache of pages if recent
That’s in insane amount of users and so glad they’ve picked an instance that will eventually refederate
I think it might be too noisy
It may not be forever, and this reddit pause will hopefully be the kickstart for the fediverse of reddit-likes :)
Afaik kbin.social’s DDOS protection through cloudflare is messing with federation. I don’t believe it will be permanent but I don’t have a source on that.
I’m hoping that most third party apps will adapt to lemmy, providing a friction in our favor.
I get really annoyed about the acrid pushback because of Lemmy’s creators, and I usually deflect to unaffiliated server hosts or if it’s really strong, mention kbin since we all connect freely.
It’s just so important to me that the migration goes to a federated platform and not another central one.
I’ve said before, there’s a preference for filtering of normies from primarily Mastodon servers that i don’t see on other fediverse servers like Lemmy and i hope that means we’ll be able to effectively capture the Digg moment.
It would be amazing to see a pro-user regression from the progressing venture capitalist changes to Reddit
I subscribe to r/tech and r/technology but it would be nice for there to be multi server communities. Matrix found a way to do it
Funnily I remember joining both Digg and Lemmy shortly before Digg’s implosion. It’s really bittersweet cause there’s so many smaller subreddits like r/SS13 and multitudes of show subreddits that collect fans to chat with that I wish I could take with to the fediverse reddit-likes.
I thought so too. I went to a rural high school with 700 people and I’d say at least half took the school busses
Fedora Silverblue. It’s one of the closest to a ChromeOS like “no maintenance” Linux distros with still a lot of Linux feel. I just don’t have the headspace to maintain reliably anymore.
I love being only able to worry about checklist things in the final minutes before sleeping
