ROFL He should be a writer for The Onion!
Just a dude who believes in the Fediverse over standard Social Media sites! I’m a fan of horror, cute animals, and handsome lads.

As a casual user of Linux (no strong inclination or skill in coding), I tend to veer towards distros that minimize the Terminal usage in favor of graphical user interfaces for accomplishing most changes. Modern Linux distros are a lot friendlier in terms of installing Software from a distro store and graphic drivers via a graphical interface. You won’t ever fully be able to eliminate the terminal usage, as it’s inevitable for certain tasks like adding PPAs on Ubuntu for example. It was honestly word salad for me during my first foray into the Linux world; but now I have a basic understanding of the Linux kernel and how it functions on a very surface level. I know enough to string commands together and understand the reason why it’s necessary to do things in a certain order.
I’m not sure if you’d have a good time with Linux, I’m hesitant to tell you to take the plunge because you will have to faff around with the terminal and use commands at times to accomplish certain things. That requires both focus and patience, something which is naturally difficult for those with ADHD (unless a hyperfixation is quite strong). I’d give yourself time to think about switching for a while, ultimately you might be better sticking with the current OS that you’re using.
I want quality content and not the slop Ubishit and Evil, Actually are wont to create; there are several ‘AAA’ games studios that belong on the right-hand side but wouldn’t fit in the meme well.
This is such a huge yikes, it will take more than employees raising their concerns to stop this. Outer and Inner forces need to be leveraged to stop OpenAI from doing super shady shit. At this point, I feel it’s more about harm reduction than stopping harm from happening, as this company is sketchy as fuck. I’m concerned that Sam may have done things we’ve yet to hear about…
ROFL The affluent have a new arch nemesis, at least he leaves all his pee contained and on display without causing actual harm!
Most of the time, yes! I will avoid anything that’s clear because it makes my brain not want it. Unless, I’ve looked up the mystery flavor (in the case of a static mystery flavor).
Hmm…I just think the direction they took with Lightning and the other characters wasn’t ideal and the moment to moment gameplay was not the best; I said nothing about outright hate for the game. Furthermore, I only feel disdain for real things that could actually cause harm to the world.
I feel like the themes of slavery were so poorly handled that it shouldn’t have even been a plot point. The game would’ve been the same without them or with them; as they didn’t handle it with much nuance and doubtfully had the writing chops to do so. While the Boss Battles with summons are spectacles, they can get really dull the more you fight bosses. I would say it’s a mix of infantile oppressive fantasy to occasional brilliant scenes that made me question why this game was overall so-so. Those strong moments of writing never stuck around long enough to make a greater impact; it made me feel like two people were responsible for the writing of this game, and the worse writer won more often.
I wouldn’t say it’s the worst Final Fantasy as the FF 13 trilogy still exists, however, FF16 is a middling entry in the series.
I agree with the idea that NC has a chance to go blue this cycle; as Mark Robinson is a disgusting force in the MAGA space. He is one of the most vile that MAGA GOP have allowed to represent them. I can only hope people wake the fuck up and vote in favor of their interests instead of against themselves. In the past, at least some of the MAGA era scum have been a bit less vile (still people who were ethically impaired). Mark Robinson makes JD Vance look relatively tame if you put them side by side, that really says a lot about Mark.
Mark Robinson is a giant, walking and talking red flag; I really hope he keeps saying the quiet parts out loud and ruins his party’s chances to be elected ever again.
Yikes, EA is so freaking silly! Why leave money on the table by not presenting a revamped and fresh single-player experience?! They could make it backwards compatible with The Sims 4 letting you import families from The Sims 4 to The Sims 5. If they really want to keep The Sims 4 on life support like this; they need to put in the work with a revamped and much improved engine that can support all the weight which will be put on it. As there are people who will without a doubt buy all the packs and try to run them…To mixed results.
I don’t see Project Rene doing as well as they are hoping; for all the positive changes it will introduce to build/buy mode and even Create a Sim. The omnipresence of free to play bullshit will be evitable because EA (Evil, Actually) will use that as a means of fleecing player base of their hard-earned cash.
While I do like movies, I find myself playing more games than movies. This is due to most of the movies coming out not being to my personal taste; whereas I can always find a game that is just right. It helps that games are interactive and not just static experiences, like films.
Wow, this shouldn’t be a hard choice. Keeping the current model of buy to play would be best, I wouldn’t think that Palworld would even benefit from a live-service model, given those games seem to die a lot faster than the standard buy and play.
To a casual user of a Linux distro; I find this news to be disappointing because Linus himself saw the value of Rust for Linux, yet hostile old hats are making it difficult to manifest. From all that I read, they didn’t want or need to force anyone but the passionate to learn Rust as a programming language. Staying out of the way and letting those committed devs work without harassment would’ve been a saner way to deal with the Rust Linux Kernel project. Rust, based on my reading and unskilled interpretation, is a memory safe language that does offer some benefits for the OS that use it. It would in theory bring more interest towards the Linux Kernel, and that can only be a good thing; since Microsoft is way too comfortable and needs to be slapped with a loss of users that migrate to Linux. Hell, COSMIC is being written in Rust due to the benefits of the coding language. The hostility doesn’t make a lot of sense to me, but people will be people, and this sometimes occurs.
Yeah, this Ubislop will be forgotten, we will poke fun at its glitches. If they had tried to capture people’s imaginations (but fell just short enough like Skyrim) we’d probably be talking about this game for years to come. Star Wars: Outlaws is just an overhyped cash grab.
I feel like the missions are pretty good for the most part; I’m pretty far in but have yet to actually play more since a frustrating random encounter. I do find the unskippable skinning cutscenes and little too long animations for doing something a bit trying. Also, the bug where Arthur will stow all but his sidearms and main weapon after riding the horse for a few minutes. When you dismount, you’ve got to re-equip every time. This issue is fixed in multiplayer though, but sadly to this day unfixed in single-player. These are really my only gripes, as Rockstar did a good job of approximating the feel of the late 1800s in the USA.
Standard Notes, Firefox, novelWriter are the ones I rely on the most for my daily needs.
That annoyed me with Windows too, however, Active Hours adjusted to the times that I actively used my PC. As I kept my PC up to date and never kept it running while not in use for too long, I’ve never been threatened with a forced restart randomly. That being said, a user should have full control over their PC. They will though in turn be responsible for any poor outcomes due to making poor decisions.
I ended up choosing a Linux distro over Windows because I have absolute control over my PC at all times. Freedom to modify, to potentially break, but also easily recover my distro if I truly fuck up.
I haven’t specifically seen anyone go off the rails when it comes to emoji usage on Lemmy; I can only comment on my particular feelings about emoji: Like any tool, emoji can be used in ways which are confusing. However, the value of these little images conveying additional context to written text is useful. There is so much of the personal voice which is lost with written words, unadorned with body language, tone of voice, and facial expressions. Emoji are like a written solution to this issue (for those that don’t pick up on context on words alone). I am fine with the usage of emoji.
That was a delayed grift release, no wonder they stealth launched it (given it would’ve tarnished them even more). I hope they get a lot of shit for this scammy ‘game’.
