I think LMG / LTT paid for it, but the issue still remains what do you do as a manager or boss in a company when these things happen?
If the authorities is not involved then there only is one thing to do, hire someone yourself. Doing the audit internally by yourself is worse. So they did what they can do in a situation like that.
Unfortunately we have to trust them in the very end. If they say that the audit found X and not Y, we have no other choice but to trust it, or have zero tolerance. By not forgiving or allowing people and companies to improve we only make them repress and hide issues more. Zero tolerance could also leads to innocent people and companies being harshly and unfairly punished.

Thanks, I see that this was somewhat contradictory.
My point is that the issue with SA and sexual harassment is so prevalent in society that it happens everywhere. A company of a 100 employees or more would probably have someone acting badly. As long as it is handled and the parties face some sort of consequences that prevents it in the future I don’t see how disregarding an entire company is productive or helpful. If there is proof of them not taking the harassment seriously, then I think boycotting is productive. I have not seen evidence of this in regards of LTT.
The statistics on SA and sexual harassment in society pretty much points in the direction that it is a huge problem and happens everywhere, and therefore should be expected to happen at LTT as well. Not that it is OK.
Not that I condone or want to minimize the experience.
But isn’t that something that happens at pretty much all companies given a certain size? The more people work somewhere the higher the likelihood that some form of sexual harassment would happen? LTT has >100 employees I believe. LTT seems to be a place that takes good care of their employees compared to most companies.
I kinda feel that disregarding the entire company because of a sexual harassment incident is heavy handed. Note that I do not know of the extent that this has happened.
I am open to having my mind changed here.
I have never gotten used to WebStorm, is it worth the investment of time? I use VSCode / VSCodium and am generally happy with it.
After what?
The German government is also using Matrix for communication in some organizations.
Cool idea, love more competition in this space!
I was unfortunately disappointed by the first query I did. I searched for “Norway” and did not get any good results. I expected Wikipedia or something similar, but did not get anything good. Maybe I used it wrong?
Yes.
Some people have to use pills their entire lives. I take some for my disability. They make me more patient and less excited/stressed. They also reduce episodes in which I might harm myself or do things I regret. I am not my disease. I am me, and the medicine is like using crutches for my mind.
I can not solve my issues by talking to a therapist, so medicine is a requirement.
I find it kinda idiotic not to accept medicine that will make things better for you. It’s irrational. I don’t blame you for feeling it this way, I am not sure if this is a gendered issue, but as a man I took it quite hard when I had to start taking meds, it was as if I had a weakness and was less than my peers. “Men are supposed to be stoic and tough” (I have since changed perspective)
Take your meds, no-one will give you a medal or appriciate it if you don’t. You are also not weaker if you take them. It just makes life easier, like a good bed or a good home. Is having a good home a weakness? “What? You can’t survive on the street? You pussy!” /s
See the irrational way of thinking? Any comfortable choice can be called some form of weakness. So then the queation becomes: Why choose to have difficulty when nobody gains from it?

Interestingly the bunny ears one is considered by the person owning the shoelace site as good if done correctly. Maybe I did something wrong before I learned the standard knot. https://www.fieggen.com/shoelace/twoloopknot.htm
It’s worth learning. It is a much better knot. It’s not hard to learn. I used bunny ears for 15 years before I learned. Do your knots loosen pretty much everyday? Mine did. With the improved knot it doesn’t.

I am not sure if this is true, maybe I am misunderstanding something. I use GrapheneOS and can use all banking services in Norway just fine. GrapheneOS does have a translation layer or something like that for Google Play Services, is that what you are thinking of?
Can you elaborate a bit on the google and apple servers for authentication? My impression was that this system uses its own platform.
Does it work well from a user experience standpoint? I am considering switching from my current provider to KeePass XC. Usability is important, I also need to share some passwords with my SO. She is good with technology and computers, but not a dev.
Everyone in Norway has one, well like 99,99% or something. It is a requirement for banking.
It is used for all banking services in Norway. When you get your own bank account at 13 or something you also get BankID.
You are correct, but i’d like to expand a bit on how it could be solved.
It requires that all major social networks use BankID for all traffic from Norway.
Bypassing it would require a VPN, which is a simple hurdle.
But the major win here is that parents will enforce this. Parents can point to this law and say that they have to be old enough. As long as enough parents enforce this law and the VPN requirement is there, then it will probably be effective enough
Not saying you might be right, but this could be solved with a simple API that returns yes/no for the age check, without providing additional information.
Yeah, that’s a good one too.
Every time I think about how important we are to them and how loyal they are, I end up thinking about the “Jurrasic Bark” episode in Futurama 😭
