  • In addition to a few I’ve seen posted already (Stardew Valley especially)…

    • A Dark Room: A relatively short, minimalist, mostly-text-based RPG with a dark vibe. I come back to this at least once a year. Can be played free via web browser, but the native app version has some extras.
    • Dysmantle: A huge and well-polished zombie survival sim. Just recently finished it and was really impressed with the overall scale, level design and progression.
    • Papers, Please: A ‘dystopian document thriller.’ You play as a border checkpoint agent, verifying increasingly-complicated passport documents and questioning your moral compass. Port of a PC game by the same name.

  • Just another Monday for me by now… Have had to put so many once-beloved channels out to pasture. I really love YouTube for what it was (and still mostly is), making entertainment content something more personal than traditional TV… but it’s changing. And change isn’t inherently bad.

I will say that I’m having a harder time nowadays finding new content on YT that measures up. Just started a trial for Curiosity Stream today, and there are other platforms, too.

  • Tales from the Mos Eisley Cantina

I loved that book as a kid! Tales of the Bounty Hunters, too. I’m excited for the possibility that Acolyte could be something like those, and branch out into some new territory. I also know Disney is terrified of the possibility of alienating even the most casual watcher, so I’m also emotionally prepared for this to turn into GONK: The Beginning or some other OT prop origin story.
