A lot of the rest of the world has either been voting their Bernies away or is in the process to do so. Right wing populism is taking over many other countries as well, just look at Europe. Almost all countries here have either right wing governments or are drifting towards it at the moment.

It’s so funny to me how a lot of the people that voted for Trump seem to think it’ll not be that bad. Dude, he literally told you ALL of his plans. Even if only half of it goes through it’s still going to get significantly harder for most people. How can you willingly vote for that?

I’m over in the Netherlands but I have in-laws in the USA and many of them either didn’t vote or voted republican according to my partner. I tried my best convincing them to at least vote but it’s pointless, many people believe that it doesn’t matter who you vote for because the secret elite in the background will determine the result anyway.

I honestly feel sick to even be in-law related to Trump voters and it’s really making me not want to talk to those people ever again. It’s hard to realize that much of her family is heavily reliant on medication for various conditions (diabetes, heart disease, painkillers, etc) and that it’ll most likely get much harder for them once Trump takes office and starts destroying Obamacare again.

The difference is that Europe should be more capable of resisting America. We’ll see if that actually happens but given how things have gone before when the EU went after American companies I don’t think they’ll budge easily.

I recently learned about the great auk, it’s so sad that they no longer exist. Humans really suck, so many species went extinct because of us. And in this case it wasn’t even necessary for survival, they just killed a ton of them for their feathers to make fancier pillows (and other stuff) but they weren’t eaten I believe…

I agree, this will really be a shit show. It’s especially scummy that just last week they announced a road map and opened pre orders only to now suddenly delay the whole game by 5 months(!). There’s no way they didn’t know about this last week, why open pre orders then? I know it says you can get a refund but it’s not a good look to do it this way. Sports Interactive is so bad at marketing and timing things it’s insane.

I think this delay will cause problems for both this game and the next one because they’ll either have to focus on FM26 and undercook this one or they’ll focus on this one and release a minor upgrade in FM26. There’s no real solution anymore, all because of how they’ve done things.

They also very much had the advantage of knowing their terrain and both Hitler and Napoleon got cocky and kept going during winter time without being prepared for it. Hitler especially was actually making good progress until winter hit so you could almost even say that Russia took a calculated risk (even though I think it’s more of a “got lucky” situation).

I’m still happy that I went through the effort to delete all my old posts when I left Reddit a while back. I periodically check if they’ve restored them and luckily it hasn’t happened so far. I do miss some of the bigger communities but overall I’m having a good time on Lemmy.

I agree, I watched one about the Netherlands a while back and it was pretty trash. They’re fun videos for entertainment purposes but definitely not correct.

I know right? Executives just never seem to get that you actually need to provide value to have people want to sign up for it. Saying that though, there’s a lot of dumb consumers out there that just pay for it if needed.

Judging by the average tech saviness of a government worker (baby boomer that’s against any form of technology) this is probably a good thing. They’d throw in sensitive information in a heartbeat.

I agree but I do think that for the majority of people it would be easier to go from a fuel car to an electric car then it would be to having no car at all. Even if they don’t use it daily it still offers them a feeling of freedom and flexibility. I know that you can also achieve that feeling using public transport / walking and cycling everywhere (Dutchie here) but it’s quite the transition for people if you didn’t grow up in an environment like that.

There’s already been 2 terrorist attacks in Europe and based on the evacuations of public spaces in France it seems like it’s only the start. I’m not sure if it’s all because of the war (the attack in Brussels seems to be more related to ISIS according to the news) but it sure seems like it’s gotten a lot more frequent since it really kicked off last week.

Except most governments. They also fund humanitarian aid for the Palestinians on the down-low but publically they’re supporting Israel. Just look at the US.

The family plan sadly isn’t an option for me, I don’t have anyone in my family that uses YouTube as much as I do so they wouldn’t be interested in it.

I wouldn’t mind paying a little bit of money every month to get YouTube ad free. However, it costs €12 a month. That’s a lot of money if you only care about getting rid of ads. I personally don’t need the other features (downloading videos, background play and YouTube music). If they added a 5 to 7 euro a month tier through which you could get rid of ads then that would be much more interesting to me. Now I just feel like I should keep looking for ways around their pop up shenanigans.

Nope, it feels like most people are too far gone for that and they’ll never accept it. All thanks to these dumb politicians that took bribes to cover it up for years and years. Thanks for making our futures so much worse…
