mindustry is my fav
it’s a crazy good combo of resource management, tower defense, rts, and sandbox creativity
added bonus that it’s open source and even has multi-player

dang same I’m way more engaged here and I spend less time it’s a huge win win and it just feels healthier
I think a more finished kbin in the near future and apps for it installation and maintenance is still an absolute nightmare for it, and it’s lacking support for non amazon s3 out of the box I’m still trying to fix federation but it still eludes me
I was considering reddit gold, but with everything I felt the money was better placed in running my own kbin instance. bonus points that other people can use it too :3
found the min/maxer :3
but yeah, if you play the game proactively you can prevent a bunch of the hard choices
I found just playing the game at normal speed with no pause can definitely spice it up and made me feel like a desperate administrator just trying to make everything good enough
I had a similar experience on my first playthrough
spoiler:
||when the stuff with the mines happened in a new home I was actually devastated for the volunteers||
also somehow the game managed to make me feel cold while I played lol
yeah lol it definitely takes a lot of energy to play
I haven’t played for ages but one of my friends has been playing on it for the first time on my pc and it’s awesome because I basically get to experience it again through him XD
it does a really good job at making the decisions have weight behind them, but it I found they could definitely get pretty depressing
I’m so tired of governments bending over backwards to help billionaires while ignoring average people
I’m so tired of valuing people based on their net worth. these double standards are disappointing and honestly disgusting. I’m disgusted by our current politics and economics
I wasn’t aware that it worked
I am working on an app myself but it’s going to be about a month
kbin still doesn’t fully have an api so any apps are going to have to wait until it’s development is underway
it’s almost as if op was hiding something
no no that can’t be it
“it’s a biological fact” mfs when I exist (I’m intersex)
it’s almost as if they require proof and analysis to back a claim in universities lol
i use kbin because I don’t like lemmy’s devs 🙃
bonus points that it actually deletes things
Obsidian is hella based
vs code is a text editor which can be extended to be an ide with extensions for a specific language
C++ is pretty hard to set up and debug without a specialized ide, so if you want to get into low level programming i wound recommend rust. rust’s documentation is fantastic, the compiler helps you and it protects you from some of the worst bugs that can arise in c++
I’m banning this troll from my instance lol
I’m using porkbun for my instance and it’s been great
my domain renewal was half google domain’s offering price
I don’t know about this app in particular but if it fully implementes kbin’s api it should work
yep! kbin fully supports microblog content and all kbin posts appear as they should on mastodon
I wound up following most of the admin guide for bare metal but it didn’t wind up working so I had to get a ton of help in the matrix room for the project. documentation is really scarce at the moment but I’m trying to make sense of it all and put some better documentation together
kbin is still basically undocumented since it’s so young so there is still a lot of work to be done on that front
it’s because they aren’t talking about users, it’s shareholders. shareholders don’t stand to gain near as much ad revenue from the endless algorithm induced scrolling. executives and shareholders hate chronological feeds, not people
