The hardware isn’t anymore. I bought a second for dirt cheap when they decided to end it. They still make updates though. The replacement is a cell phone app.
So I wasn’t playing swat, but I loved the rainbow six/rogue spear games a ton. Would it be similar enough to those that I’d find it fun?
I was starting in similar years, some time in high school (03-07) I set up a dual boot with Ubuntu. I’ve dabbled on and off since. Usually put Ubuntu on old laptops to give em some more life, current work laptop is that way. It’s never been my primary OS. But I’ve had either a dual boot or laptop running it most years since then.
I didn’t know there was a new engine, that’s cool. Excited for the coop!
I heard cheatin and exploits have gotten pretty bad. Is that accurate/still the case?
A remake of B&W with VR support is my dream.
They’re subtle in a traditional game sense, but for a city sim these are huge. The way stuff works behind the scenes makes it more vibrant and lifelike, and makes the issues (weather events, traffic accidents etc) more fun.
Really happy to see people excited about these kinds of changes as I am. Cause this is the stuff that’s going to make it the city sim for years to come.
This was my purchase too. I’ve been really into the boomer shooter renaissance that’s been going on.
Also got the hammer watch four pack for me and some friends.

An article covering similar issues to what you brought up.
I’ve noticed some times they just take a while to show as a notification. (This is assuming you have it enabled as others have pointed out in here)
Anyone that played the game have an option on this one? Last train sim I played was Microsoft train simulator (I prefer the tycoon style train games) I enjoyed it but management and planning are more interesting to me. Is this just riding between pretty locals?
I think it’s just changed over time. Reddit was really different ten years ago. Posts by the admins about changes or their actions regarding drama were more common for example.
Same where I grew up, worst part was the developer bought it like two decades ago, sat on it for five ish years (logged a single dirt road), then put in paved roads/utilities and a demo house for another five with empty lots cut, and the last ten or so have built maybe four more. So it’s not even utilized, they cut down huge swaths of forest and it’s just sat most of the time.
That’s a big part of it. And people can have so many different set ups now too. And there isn’t time/funding to redo the mix for them all. There was a good article that covered some of the various reasons, I can’t find it but some others…

The article I’m thinking of also mentioned mics changing, and actors not having to speak directly into it to get anything. So it opens up far more realistic acting, but makes capturing/mixing that dialogue more difficult.
I was going to say, I think I’ve seen this sci Fi.
It’s just refreshing to have finally found something that’s similarly structured (not discord/Forum based) and has decent activity. Once the apps start gaining traction, and I get a better feel for navigating this whole fediverse thing… Reddits just not going to be relevant.
Looks pretty good, but with the slim pickings it seems like it would be best to mix this with the WW2 mods already available to really flesh out weapons/vehicles (and missions). At least for now, we’ll see how much they add with time.
