They had it coming! Should’ve picked a different place to be born.
They certainly should have! Poor kids. (I didn’t miss your sarcasm, just adding to it)
Look what the older Palestinian kids have had to endure:
Ah yes, that’s exactly what I said.
That’s all well and good, but can we talk about proper use of this meme template?
Whew. OK man. Have a nice day.
Wow what a dodge. It doesn’t matter the extent of the trauma or whether it’s the worst trauma they have had. You are minding your own business, have done nothing wrong, then the cops show up with a random accusation and “need” to put you in cuffs while they determine if you are a threat. Comply or violence. It’s not right.
And I’m saying, even if they are polite, they are polite because I comply. If I don’t really want to be in handcuffs right then - doesn’t matter. If I’ve got an important appointment or was about to leave to pick up my child from school before police arrived to “make sure I’m not a threat” - doesn’t matter.
Your options at that point, even as someone who has done nothing wrong are comply, or expect violence. THAT is inherently traumatic.
I don’t disagree with you about this specific case, I was reacting to your “people put too much stock in being cuffed.” Removing another person’s bodily autonomy under direct threat of violence is just another day for police, but for the rest of us it’s a pretty fucking traumatic thing to be on the other end of.
Perhaps if you don’t understand what police officers go through, I could see it.
I understand they can pick a different job if it’s too much for them, and that they knew what the job entailed when they picked the career in the first place.
I always felt like people put too much stock into being handcuffed or not
Too much stock? Your bodily autonomy is being removed, under overt threat of further violence if you resist. It’s humiliating if seen in that condition because of assumptions people make. For someone who has done nothing wrong why the fuck wouldn’t they be indignant?
I’ve been handcuffed before, In a similar but not nearly as severe circumstance.
Me too, and I knew that they at least had a reason to think I was up to no good (I was not), it’s not the same as literally minding your own business in your own home and having them barge in. Not really apples to apples to this situation here.
I’ve read this article when it was posted before and my impression is it does EXACTLY the thing to non-rural voters as it warns the reader about doing to rural voters. I can quote the bits if you are going to force me to read it again, but I don’t see how anyone can fail to see that.
It also doesn’t change the fact that the party who might actually make their lives better is NOT the one they are voting for.
But we gave Palestine a table to sit at in the UN! /s
I wonder if the cops threatened this guy with their weapons while he burned to death like they did that other poor soul.
My favorite was when she clearly (very clearly IMO) seemed about to say “…but this motherfucker…” and restrained herself.
Clearly no government agency is going to do shit about the price gouging, so why would they stop?
Surprised the US didn’t block it somehow.
Man, it’s just a point of discussion. I literally said I’m not demanding it should be added.
And, in the examples I gave, at least two of them did stop the attacker before being killed by police.
It is, however, one of the outcomes, and is not represented. I’m not demanding it should be added, but I think it makes the “Good guy with a gun” argument even weaker.
No fucking way I’m pulling out my gun if I think there’s a >0 possibility Police are on the scene. Now I have to not only worry about taking care of the bad guy, but also about being shot to death by police.
Don’t forget when cops shoot the good guy with a gun!
Here are a few I could find quickly. There’s at least one more that I just happen to recall that didn’t come up because I can’t seem to remember where it happened. I think it was more recent than any of these. And I’m quite sure there are many more than that, this was just the most time I was willing to spend googling at the moment.

100% true, I agree with you! They proved this when apple pulled the jack - someone took that model apart and found there was still plenty of room. And Samsung (Galaxy S7 comes to mind but likely there are others) did waterproofing with the jack anyhow.
I was so pissed when Apple took the 3.5mm jack because I knew the rest would follow, and they did.
OTOH, now that I’ve gone to the dark side, I listen to music more often and enjoy it more thoroughly because I’m not dealing with tangled cables or having them accidentally yanked out of my ears, and therefore I’m more likely to have my earbuds with me. (they are now always in a pocket in my backpack) I can even fairly comfortably go to sleep with them on, which I do often.
I understand the audiophile arguments, and I’m sure that even with Buds2 Pro, SSC, and some fairly painstaking attention to EQ/DSP settings I’m leaving something on the table. I don’t care about whatever that something is. I haven’t enjoyed music this much and this often since I was prepubescent.
I have nothing bad to say about anyone else’s choices, but the rush to shit on bluetooth earbuds gets a little “I don’t even own a TV” sometimes. (for folks old enough to remember that kinda snobby trope around Y2K or so)
You don’t put bourbon in it or nothin’?
