It’s going to confuse everyday users
Call me a conspiracy theorist, but I believe this is the intention. I think big companies deliberately put in confusing and bad design to “test the waters” and see if people will still buy their products. It’s the same with the apple mouse charging on the bottom, or why companies keep making their logos uglier with each iteration. It’s a psy-op to condition the masses into accepting worse products without complaining.
This is correct, but still, fuck apple. What if I just prefer to turn my computer off instead of putting it into sleep mode? And how exactly am I supposed to wake up my computer from sleep if the power button is inaccessible? I know macs can be configured to wake up on keyboard/mouse activity, but that makes them too easy to wake up on accident.

When I hear “AI”, I think of that thing that proofreads my emails and writes boilerplate code. Just a useful tool among a long list of others. Why would I spend emotional effort hating it? I think people who “hate” AI are just as annoying as the people pushing it as the solution to all our problems.
Ususally just turning off javascript using ublock makes these notices go away. And if turning off javascript breaks the website… well then I guess whatever I was trying to read wasn’t really worth my time anyway.
Tangentially related, but I love how http://ai is an actual website that you can visit. We’re so used to thinking of websites as <something>.<tld> that it’s really weird to see a website hosted directly on a top level domain with no subdomain.

I’m often hearing that 4chan is “unmoderated” or has “the bare minimum of moderation”, which just doesn’t line up with reality. Many boards have strict and specific rules about what content is allowed, what is banned, and how said content should be presented. Just listing some rules off the top of my head: you must have a minimum number of pictures to start a thread of /s/. Normal hentai porn goes into /h/, weird fetish stuff goes into /d/. No western art allowed on either. Content that breaks the rules gets removed within hours, sometimes minutes.
If you see something that you find disagreeable on a 4chan board, it’s likely there because it’s allowed to be there. They aren’t struggling with moderation. The fact that it’s still online in the clearnet after so much media attention proves that they have enough jannies to take care of the illegal stuff at least.

AFAIK bread is pretty rare in east asian cultures tho. Like obviously nowadays they have it but traditionally I think they mostly had rice occupy the role of bread. idk tho
It’s archaic english. So yes, I think people will think you’re weird. But maybe if you start using it with your dutch friends/colleagues in english-speaking contexts, you can slowly introduce it into common usage in your community. Might be cool.

A lot of “hardware raid” is just a separate controller doing software raid. I thought I lost access to a bunch of data when my raid controller died, before I realized that I could just plug the disks directly into the computer and mount them with mdadm. But yes, hardware raid seems a bit pointless nowadays.
