Yes! Private sites’ .torrent and magnet links know who you are so they can track your ratio.
The passkey is also why you shouldn’t share torrent files.
I don’t do subs either, but I think Infuse is so good I made the one exception. I’ve been using it for about a year and haven’t had any issues. It does everything I’ve wanted it to do. However, at $10/yr for the subscription, that lifetime price is way too ridiculous. I’ll pay the sub and move on to whatever looks better each time the subscription is up for renewal.
I’ve also read various app reviews that lifetime only applies to the current version (i.e. 7.x), so you’d have to pay lifetime again for the v8. I can’t verify this of course, so take it with a pound of salt.
The only irritation I’ve had with Infuse is that it only understands “aired date” metadata. If you have something in “dvd order” it can’t download that. This is a problem people have complained about for quite a while. I don’t think this is an issue for you though since I think you’re getting your metadata from JF anyway so Infuse doesn’t have to do it?
I’d try a different browser without extensions and work backwards from there. You can also try asking on our tech support Matrix room : https://matrix.to/#/%23div0-techsupport%3Amatrix.org
We’re good! See https://lemmy.dbzer0.com/post/547459 for more info.
Wait, what? You have a sauce?
You may notice slower speeds and difficulties downloading rare stuff. Generally, you’ll probably be OK if you’re looking for well-seeded files.
See here for a bit better explanation.
Def agree a boost
button would make more sense and makes the intended purpose clear. At the end of the day I really only care that useful and insightful comments float up to the top.
Yep, works fine (afaik)!
I’m seeing more people move that direction. It’s worth keeping an eye on it.
I think this is definitely the way to go! Just waiting on qbit now. VPNs are starting to feel dated (to me) for torrent use, but still great for privacy.
My vote goes to ivpn and Proton (in that order).
That works pretty well; it’s not as polished as the geti2p docker, but it gets the job done! Just need to wait on qBittorrent to firm up their i2p support and I think it’ll be golden for my needs. Thanks!!
Yeah, ironic. A medium that should encourage vibrant communication and idea exchange has instead nurtured ignorance and hate. 🤦♀️ Thanks for your post!
Oh, interesting! I didn’t know the captchas were crap (how I feel about captchas anyway) on Lemmy. TIL. Seems like upgrading now has more benefit then; carry on and ignore me.
All fine points and I can’t argue against those! Just my personal preference where I don’t mind being miserable for another few days, particularly in the case where important anti-bot features are missing.
I don’t see any wrong answer; both options have advantages. Personally, we’ve already waited this long, what’s another few days?
Have you always needed a separate indexer? I vaguely recall using Usenet a decade ago and being able to download directly from the thread I was browsing. Do some providers include an indexer with the Usenet subscription?
People completely missing the point for an opportunity to shit on Apple is on brand though. Lol.
