I just was rejected from 5 jobs in a row. I straight up asked how I could have been a more competitive candidate. I got some specific feedback about software I didn’t know (fair), an answer on a questionnaire that was milquetoast (also fair), but mostly kind things said. They’re not going to drag you but it can be a productive conversation.

I know you guys may think this is silly but cave ecosystems are so fragile. Yes you are damaging it by just being there but they have weighed the risk vs obligation when it comes to National Park accessibility and decided that limited guided tours were an acceptable sacrifice to enrich the lives of the general public.

This is devastating and feels terrible. Don’t take food inside a cave. Many caves have lockers outside. Don’t eat inside the cave. Keep your bag zipped until the end of the tour and carry it in front of you NOT ON YOUR BACK.

Truth. I’m not good at riddles so my resume in Word has an extra page I can’t get rid of. No there are no tables, yes I can see formatting, and deleting the page break massively fucks up the formatting for the whole document. I have to print to PDF then edit the PDF to delete the blank page. It’s a huge hassle. But I don’t have to deal with it very often so it is not really worth fixing.

I have to make about 5 - 7 phone calls for important shit in my life. I am actively suffering for not having made these calls. It’s getting worse.

All I can do is hope that I will wake up one day and I’ll feel okay enough to make one of the phone calls. It happens every once in a while, I swear.

I used to do construction inspections/babysitting and this is only partially true on construction sites. Usually 2 steps into the zone I was getting workers wondering wtf I was doing and if I’d signed in yet. Every once in a while they wouldn’t care and this was usually smaller sites.

The Ace Ventura sequel, When Nature Calls. My gooey adolescent brain ate it up and it is one of the few movies from my childhood where I can set aside everything I’ve learned and just enjoy it.

I academically know it’s bad and wildly problematic, I’m not blind, but nostalgia can be pretty powerful.
