- I haven’t played Fallout 76, but that’s GOT to be used in the game, right!?
- I kind of assumed we were going to see this classic.
The CNN article is actually even better. HERE for example is some some of the so-called terrible produce. I also liked this:
“I said to Ed one day, ‘I haven’t talked to one person here in three months…’ I just miss interacting,” she says, adding that she doesn’t necessarily “want to hang around with expats” as “that’s not exactly why we came on this adventure.”
Locals have been friendly and welcoming, but Joanna hasn’t managed to “strike up friendships” the way she would have hoped to, conceding that the language and cultural barrier have made things more tricky.
I think maybe the most clear evidence that these two are idiots and California cliches with no ability to self-reflect, however, is that they agreed to the story at all. Okay, you were DINKs for a long time and now you have money to burn and did something slightly dumb. Why in the holy hell would you tell the world?!?!?
He did. I also am not entirely sure I structured my meme properly. Archer is probably the worst of the first five, but he’s of course miles ahead of Trump Papa Palpatine.
When you watch the “OW!!!” video when he gets to relive meeting Jennifer, I think it counts as joviality. His joviality is just punctuated by socially awkward noises.
That was odd. There was a “blink and you miss it” reference that it’s not poison for Cardassians, and another indicating that the Maquis and Cardassians simply traded colonies after Eddington did a bio-warfare and Sisko countered with a chemical-warfare.
This is one more way for him to say, “Fuck off. We’re not doing a sequel or reboot.” Maybe with a little dash of, “but if you still wanted to throw some money at me…”
This is inconceivable.
Fair, and maybe I’m stepping in it a bit, but thought a post about a 4-switch Vader 2600 might attract a lively crowd.
I wouldn’t presume to have even 20% of the 2600 games that bring something different and good to the table, it’s just (to misquote Samuel Johnson), for so many of them the good parts are not different and the different parts are not good.
And again, that’s completely apart from a personal nostalgia (god knows I indulge in that) or to propose that they’re simply not fun in a binary sense. If I’m 12 and I get 2600 Venture I enjoy the hell out of it, but if I’m a middle aged man in 2024, at the bare minimum I’m going for this.
So, real talk? Most 2600 games are rough, and barring personal nostalgia, there’s little reason to play most of them in the age of emulation, especially arcade conversions, which sometimes nail the gameplay (but often don’t), and generally have to perform acts of violence on the visuals to make them work with the system and the business realities around their development (i.e. staffing, timeline, budget for ROM chips, etc.).
Some worthwhile ones that come to mind:
It’s not that so many more weren’t fun, or even still aren’t in isolation, but it’s like we’re all the rich fat kid from Pee-Wee’s big adventure and have access to every single game on every single system, at least up until the end of the 90s. There’s no reason to play the nice port of Berzerk that looks like it does, or play the flickery Pac-Man mess, or even (I’ll say it) fight with the groundbreaking but still primitive and abstracted gameplay of Adventure.
Also, pretty much everyone I’ve known into model railroads is into HO scale, so who is even going to buy this?
Sounds like some of them nerds need to go big or fuckin’ go home!
Looks like it’s built to model railroading “O” scale.
EDIT: Oh, duh. It says so right in your picture. I guess if you want the sweet authenticity that only product placement can buy, this is your set.
Just FYI, this is what I did. Maybe I’ll change it later, but it fit the vibe for a big dumb button on a computer keyboard perfectly.
Why do they only modulate the frequencies? They should try modulating the amplitude! The Borg or Dominion don’t stand a chance against Tradio, conservative talk radio, and Spanish-language evangelical sermons!
If that $200 is for the barebones kit, then the QK100 would be right up your alley. It’s an1800/96% style but leaves a full-size numpad zero. It also has a ton of options, including a wired hotswap PCB and choice of FR4 or PC plates, among others.
Budget and preferred layout will play into this a lot, but generally these days it’s not too hard to find wired-only and hot-swap. Anything else you can tell us?
You don’t?!?!?
Just your usual Smith-Jones or Louis-Dreyfus hyphenated name.
My wife went double-barreled after I specifically told her I didn’t care if she changed, kept, or anything in between. I didn’t want to change my name, so why should she have to?
Twenty years next summer.
Edit: “double-barreled” just means hyphenated.
