Yeah, I really don’t get why more instances can’t just allow all types of folks and let the users themselves decide who they wanna block… it’s not like it’s hard.

And being open source, lemmy could always be expanded along these lines (e.g. add a feature to block comments with nsfw/slurs/etc from my view, add user tagging and block anything [my friends | mods | certain number of users ] have tagged as xyz, … the possibilities are practically endless for anyone who wants to put in the work)
