[Yoshida] and his team at Creative Business Unit 3 have a strong desire to use the experience gained from working on Final Fantasy XVI to make a completely different game

Personally I’d love to see another game set in the world created for Final Fantasy XVI. Not even a direct sequel, something along the lines of what the Ivalice Alliance have done with their games would be great. I guess it wouldn’t even have to be Valisthea, and could be other continents on that planet.

The side quest are pretty shit gameplay wise but I’m still doing every single one I see and enjoy every moment of then because of how they always expose something extra about the world. It’s great. I love the world of 16

AAh i think they are pretty shit as well, maybe to much mmorpg like. But there are very view, that show more about the world…kinda doch want to miss them, but don’t want to do them as well.

One of the biggest reasons why Square Enix did the sequel route with FFX and FFXIII is because it was more economical to reuse assets from a previous game as cost-savings and production-savings. They could knock out a sequel in half the time it would take them to make a brand new one.

If they make a sequel on a new continent with a new cast, it would be brand new assets for everything. At that point, they’re just going to call it a new game.

I know and completely agree, that’s why I said I’d like to see another game and not necessarily a sequel, in a similar vein to what the Ivalice Alliance had done (FFT, FFXII, etc).
