This makes a lot of sense. It’s impossible to make smart decisions when you’re Hungary. That’s why it’s good to go after a meal or at minimum have a snack before grocery shopping.
SNICKERS! You aren’t EU when you’re Hungary!
You’re not you when you’re hungry.
I guess many EU citizens would love to see Hungary be stripped from voting rights as well. Hungary is very veto happy.
Why did we put it there in the first place? Hungary and other dozen eastern eure countries.

The whole point of the EU is unanimous decision making.
… aka the perfect recipe for endless deadlock and foreign entities trying to exert influence by “swaying” one member’s opinion. Decisions made by a qualified majority (2/3, 3/4) would be much more appropriate for today’s EU.
OMG please yes. We can’t have Putin’s puppets undermine EU from the inside, it’s insane.

When your system is definitely democratic
What has Hungary done against rule of law?
Starting with the Second Orbán Government in 2010, during his uninterrupted stay in power, Orbán has curtailed press freedom, weakened judicial independence, and undermined multiparty democracy, amounting to democratic backsliding during Orbán’s tenure. Orbán’s harsh criticism of the policies favored by the European Union while accepting their money and funneling it to his allies and family have also led to accusations that his government is a kleptocracy. His government has also been characterized as an autocracy.
“We [Hungarians] are not a mixed race and we do not want to become a mixed race.”
🤣 Hungarians are not a mixed race. A true student of history.
Isn’t the whole point of Balkanization to avoid mixed races?
A lot. Hard to know where to start.
Here’s somewhere to begin at least:
Holy shit, this is my username from that other place! Nice to meet you!
Haha, I had no idea, I didn’t use this name in the other place. Good name though imo.
References Euronews and the Atlantic. No bias here.
Google it yourself for other sources then, not hard to find info on the many anti democratic actions Hungary’s leader has taken or his rollbacks on human rights over the past decade. I don’t think even his supporters contest that, they just contest if it’s wrong to do or not.
If the first sources you go to include the fucking Atlantic for a European issue…
Do you disagree with something in particular or are you just letting us know that you had a bad day?
